Supporting Team #StuStrong

In late February, the news of ‘Stuntman’ Stu Schwartz’ leukemia diagnosis quickly spread throughout the community and on social media. Within hours, the MAJIC 100 Morning Show Host, Ottawa Senators PA Announcer, and the father of two had inspired the #StuStrong movement.

People throughout the city were looking for a way to help Stu, to donate money and to show their support. One of those initiatives was the creation of a #StuStrong team taking part in Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend to raise funds for The Ottawa Hospital, specifically leukemia and stem cell research.

The team, captained by Stu’s Bell Media co-worker Jeff Hopper, is made up of family, friends, co-workers and community members – all of whom wish to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

If you are looking for a way to show your support for those battling cancer but aren’t quite sure the best way to do it, there are many ways to do so.

Join the #StuStrong team – support leukemia and stem cell research at The Ottawa Hospital.

You can also simply sponsor the team or an individual runner on the team.

Since 1998, thousands of runners have raised more than $10.2 million to make a difference in patient care and research at The Ottawa Hospital.

“I want to help rally this community to support all those undergoing cancer treatment at The Ottawa Hospital,” said Stu. “I hope my blogs, positive attitude and determination will help others who are taking on their own battle with cancer.”
