Join the Scotiabank Charity Challenge

Join the Scotiabank Charity Challenge and run with purpose!

Ready to run for a cause you believe in? This is a great opportunity to give back to your community, through a fun, accessible and fulfilling event. Scotiabank generously covers all the costs associated with fundraising—from the online platform to the transaction and service fees—which means 100%* of your funds raised will go to the charity of your choice. Plus, with access to free online fundraising tools and support, it’s never been easier!

You can sign-up for the Scotiabank Charity Challenge individually, as part of an existing team, or start your own team in 4 simple steps:

STEP 1. Select the charity you would like to fundraise for!
Review the list of official charities of the 2020 Scotiabank Charity Challenge.
Select the one you’d like to fundraise for.
Would you like to raise money for a charity that is not listed? The charity must register before April 15th. For more information please visit the Official Charity page

STEP 2. Contact the charity: It’s optional yet beneficial!
We recommend you contact the charity prior to signing up. Not only may charities have access to preferential registration rates, but they may also have some additional information to share with you, including fundraising tips, and potential fundraising incentives!

STEP 3. Sign-up for the Scotiabank Charity Challenge and your race at the same time!
Register for a Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend event and the Scotiabank Charity Challenge by completing the online registration form  —this will enroll you in both the race and the fundraising program! Once registered, you will receive two confirmation emails:

  • An email for your race entry – Transaction Receipt – with confirmation number;
  • An email with link to access your personal or team fundraising page so you can customize it.

STEP 4. Start fundraising!
Customize your personal or team fundraising page. Add some photos and share your story with your friends, family and colleagues through email, social media, or by hosting your own fundraising initiatives. Be sure to share updates about your fundraising efforts on social media by using @ottawamarathon, #runScotia and #RunOttawa2020 and your charity’s social media handle.

*Scotiabank pays for online transaction fees associated with the Race Roster fundraising platform.

Since launching the Scotiabank Charity Challenge at Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend in 2015, runners and their generous donors have raised over $4 million dollars for local and national charities.
