Ottawa Kids Marathon School Program
The FREE Kids Run Ottawa School Program is back for another year – launching on March 16, 2026! We want to team up with your school to bring the Ottawa Kids Marathon School Program to your students! This awesome program is all about showing kids that being active can be exciting, fun, and rewarding!
The Kids Run Ottawa School Program is a 10-week games-based program designed for kids in grades 1-6 to help them build their running skills, goal setting skills, learn healthy habits, and boost their confidence! Over the 10 weeks, we will provide you with weekly activity outlines, skills to practice, teaching tools, and more! By the end of the program, your students will have run the equivalent of a FULL marathon (42.2KM) – broken down into smaller distances that are age-appropriate!

The Grand Finale
Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend – Ottawa Kids Marathon! Schools have the opportunity to bring students to the Ottawa Kids Marathon at the end of May to participate in this fun event! In 2025, over 1,800 kids ran this race, and over half of them participated through the Kids Run Ottawa School Program!
Registration fees are $31.50 +HST per student, which includes a unique medal, race bib, and an Ottawa Kids Marathon School Program T-Shirt!
We want to be as inclusive as possible and ensure that students have the opportunity to participate at the Ottawa Kids Marathon. Each school is eligible to receive the equivalent of 10 FREE Entries. These entries can be assigned to specific students, used to reduce each student’s entries or donated to another school in the program!
We are here to support you as the program leaders along the way! Support is available via email and through our program leader Facebook Group . We will be there every step of the way with high-quality, interactive content to ensure the program runs as smoothly as possible!
