The Scotiabank Charity Challenge
Every step helps young people and our community
Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend 2020 will mark the 46th year in which runners of all ages and abilities take to the streets of Ottawa and Gatineau to participate in Canada’s largest running weekend! Last year, over 30,000 runners participated in at least one of six events over two incredible days of running and fitness celebrations.
Since its inception, over half a million runners from all over the world have participated in Ottawa Race Weekend—each person has their own story, each with a different reason to run. One of the event’s most inspiring initiatives is the Scotiabank Charity Challenge. This program unites the spirit of runners with a free fundraising platform, in order to raise funds for their charities of choice – allowing charities to support research and develop much needed programs in order to help hundreds of thousands of people (and animals!) in need.
Last year, 70 charities participated in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge, and through thousands of fundraising runners and generous donors, they collectively raised over $800,000 for local and national organizations. Scotiabank’s generous support covers all administrative fees and those associated with the online fundraising tools. This means 100% of the funds raised through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge at Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend goes directly to the charities!
Since 2003, the Scotiabank Charity Challenge has helped runners raise over $70 million across Canada. We hope you’ll consider participating in 2020!
