Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend Running and Fitness Expo

The Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend Running and Fitness Expo is located at the Carleton University Fieldhouse and is where you pick up your race bib. It is a three-day event that attracts exhibitors from all over North America. The Expo is Canada’s largest health and fitness expo, featuring numerous retailers, and attracting thousands of people each year. The Expo is free to enter and open to the public.

  • Thursday, May 22 – 4:00pm – 9:00pm
  • Friday, May 23 – 9:00am – 9:00pm
  • Saturday, May 24 – 8:00am – 6:00pm

Ways to travel during Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend:

  • Walk, jog, or bike along Ottawa’s beautiful multi-use pathways.
  • Use OC Transpo’s Travel Planner to map your route. The O-Train (Light Rail Transit) stops closest to the start line are University of Ottawa and Parliament stations.
  • The O-Train lines 1 and 2 will be open at 5:00am on Sunday, May 25! We encourage use of the train to get to and from the race site all weekend! Line 4, which travels between South Keys and Airport stations, will begin operating at is regularly scheduled operating time of 7:30 am on Sunday.
  • Rack & Roll: Bringing a bike? OC Transpo buses and trains are bike-friendly.
  • Carpool: If driving is your only option, ride-share with a friend. Waze and Google Maps will reflect road closures. Parking is limited but street parking, private lots and City of Ottawa lots are available.

 

Getting to the Start Line and Race Weekend Festivities

Did you know that transportation to a start line has the largest environmental impact in an event like Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend? Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend is held in the downtown core so it’s easy for all of us to reduce our carbon footprint!

Use Ottawa’s famous multi-use pathways to walk, jog or cycle from your home, hotel or rental; it’s a great warm-up for your race too!

 

Public Transportation

Use the Ottawa Public Transit travel planner to help get you to the start line. The LRT (Light Rail Transit) stops closest to the start line are University Of Ottawa, Rideau, and Parliament. O-Train Lines 1 and 2 will be open at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 25 to help get people to the start line of the Tartan Ottawa International Marathon!

Coming from out of town? Ottawa Public Transit has park and ride stations outside of the city centre, most stations connect to the pathways, bring your bike to use the Rack and Roll option. 

 

Parking

Parking is limited but street parking, private lots and City of Ottawa lots are available.

 

Secure Bike Parking at City Hall

Free monitored bike parking is available during the races. Located on the Lisgar St. side of Ottawa City Hall.

  • Sunday, May 25 (6:00 am – 1:00 pm)

 

Tips from the STO (Société de transport de l’Outaouais) for navigating the city during Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend.

Please note that significant detours will be in effect downtown Gatineau on Sunday, May 25th between approximately 6:00 am and 1:00 pm. Delays are therefore to be expected in Hull and Ottawa sectors. We invite you to allow extra time for your travels.
