MAY 22 – OTTAWA –Media are invited to join a member of the Canadian marathon team heading to the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games when he meets with students at Monsignor Paul Baxter School. The school has the largest contingent of students (110) registered to participate in the Y Kids Marathon in the Tamarack Homes Ottawa Race Weekend on Sunday, May 27.
Antigonish, Nova Scotia born Eric Gillis, who will run the Ottawa 10K as part of his Olympic training, will discuss the importance of physical activity and field questions about his training and participation in the upcoming Summer Games. He will also lead the students in a stretching exercise.
Date: Thursday, May 24
Time: Event begins at 10:45 a.m. and will last approximately one hour. Street parking is available.
