Please dress warmly as public buildings are not available to accommodate the public at this time.

Q) What COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place for this event?
Our priority is to protect the health and safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff. To ensure this, we will comply with all applicable public health guidelines or requirements issued by the Ontario government and Ottawa Public Health.

Proof of full vaccination is required at kit pick up and we ask that all runners remain masked and physically distanced while not actively participating on the race course, start lines, finish lines and on the grounds.

The guidelines regarding the reopening of Ontario are subject to change. Run Ottawa’s COVID mitigation plan will be made available in advance of the event. Please review your emails prior to the event, or follow Run Ottawa on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

Q) I’m not comfortable running in groups yet, is there a virtual event?
No, Hoof It XC is an in-person event.

Q) Is proof of vaccination needed to participate in Hoof It XC?
Yes. A paper or digital copy of proof of vaccination is mandatory and will be required to be presented at race kit pick-up. The name on the proof of vaccination must match the name on your Hoof It XC registration. We only need to see your proof of vaccination, we won’t be storing or recording any sensitive information.

Q) I can’t get vaccinated for medical reasons, may I still participate?
Please reach out to questions@runottawa.ca for further details.

Q) Where can I find the course map?
Due to the nature of trails and rainy Ottawa Novembers, the course will be structured so that damage to trails remains low. This means that the 6k course may be altered several times before race day.

Q) Will there be washrooms available?
Comfort stations will be available within close proximity of the start/finish line. Please wear a mask.

Q) Can I run with a stroller?
This event contains obstacles and mud that can’t accommodate stroller usage.

Q) Will times be uploaded onto SportsStats?
Yes, if everything goes as planned, the timing will be official and uploaded to SportsStats.

Q) Will there be finisher medals for Hoof It XC?
For this event there won’t be medal handouts BUT there will be many random prize giveaways at the event.

Q) Will there be podium prizes awarded?
The first male and female finishers will be awarded a prize.
