Two $10,000 grants available for community sport across the Ottawa-Gatineau region
August 18, 2026, OTTAWA, ON – Run Ottawa is proud to announce the launch of the Run Ottawa Community Sport Fund, a new initiative designed to strengthen grassroots sport by providing financial support to local non-profit organizations delivering endurance sport programming.
Through the fund, two organizations will each receive a one-time equipment grant of $10,000 CAD to help purchase essential equipment that enhances program delivery, improves safety, increases accessibility, and creates more opportunities for participants of all ages and abilities.
The fund reflects Run Ottawa’s ongoing commitment to building healthy, active communities and supporting the organizations that introduce and sustain lifelong participation in sport.
“Local sport organizations play an essential role in creating welcoming, accessible opportunities for people to discover the joy of movement and develop lifelong healthy habits,” said Mike Vieira, Executive Director of Run Ottawa. “By investing in these organizations, we’re helping ensure more individuals have the equipment and resources they need to participate, connect and thrive through sport.”

- Triathlon
- Cycling
