Lingering calf injury thwarts Geoffrey Mutai’s comeback at the Ottawa 10K
Ottawa, May 11, 2017 – Kenyan Geoffrey Mutai’s comeback to the sport of running has been postponed. A lingering calf injury is preventing Mutai from competing at the upcoming IAAF Gold label Ottawa 10K – a race he won in 2012 – as previously announced.
The past winner of the Boston, Berlin and New York marathons had been hoping to use this race as his comeback after battling back from a series of injuries that saw him race only twice the past two years.
The IAAF Gold Label Ottawa 10K will take place May 27, 2017 followed by the IAAF Gold Label Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon on May 28, 2017.
Start lists for both events will be announced next week.
