49th International Military Sports Council  (CISM) World Military Marathon Championship

The 2017 Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon hosted the 49th International Military Sports Council (CISM) World Military Marathon Championship (WMMC). More than 85 military athletes from 18 member nations participated. Winners are:

  1. 2:34:47 – Iwona Bernardelli (Poland) – age 32
  2. 2:38:34 – Monika Stefanowicz (Poland) – age 37
  3. 2:40:12 – Alexandra Lisowski (Poland) – age 29

Top 3 men:

  1. 2:13:43 – Arkadiusz Gardzielewski (Poland) – age 30
  2. 2:15:17 – Mariusz Gizynski (Poland) – age 35
  3. 2:17:51 – Henryk Szost (Poland) age 35

The Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend 

The 2017 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend will welcome close to 43,000 participants in six races, including the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon, the Scotiabank Half Marathon, the Ottawa 10K, the HTG Sports 5K, the Ottawa 2K and Scotiabank Ottawa Kids Marathon. Last year, runners raised close to $800,000 for 61 local and national charities through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge.

The Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend is one of only two running events in the world to host two IAAF Gold Label races: the Ottawa 10K and the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon. The 2017 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend will take place on May 27-28, 2017. For more information or to register: www.runottawa.ca.
