Join Run Ottawa at Around the Bay in March 2017

Are you ready to take on the oldest race in North America?

Join the Run Ottawa crew and head down to Steeltown to take on the 2017 Around the Bay Road Races in Hamilton, Ont.

The event offers distances of 5K and 30K, with a spectacular route that takes runners all the away around the Hamilton Harbour.

Run Ottawa is organizing bus transportation and hotel accommodations for runners in the national capital region who’d like to travel to Hamilton.

Dates:

Saturday, March 25th/Sunday, March 26th

Costs:

The total fee of $215 includes double occupancy accommodation at the downtown Hamilton Sheraton Hotel, transportation on a highway coach bus and gratuity. HST is extra.  Run Ottawa members will receive a $20 discount at the time of online registration.

Race Registration:

This trip does not include registration for the 30K or 5K races. Each person must do this separately through the ‘Around the Bay’ website. Once you register for this trip, you will be sent an access code that will discount your race registration by $10. Unfortunately, if you have already registered for the race, this discount cannot be applied elsewhere.

Travel Details:  

There will be 3 pickup and drop off locations. Instructions will be provided in terms of exact location and where you can park overnight.

  • East End Location – Gloucester Centre – Blair & Ogilvie Road – 7:00 a.m. pickup time
  • Central Location – Food Basics, Hampton Park Plaza, Carling & Kirkwood –7:15 a.m. pickup time
  • West End Location – Loblaws Store – Robertson Road and Moodie Drive – 7:30 a.m. pickup time

Departure time is 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26th with arrival at the west end location by approximately 8:30 p.m.

Accommodations are double occupancy, 2 queen beds per room. There are 5 rooms for those who desire single occupancy, for an additional $40 per person, all which have a king sized bed, available on a first come, first served basis.

Meals are not included for either day.

Registration deadline: Tuesday, February 23, 2017.  No refunds will be made after this date.
