All prize money is restricted to the athletes in the professional field unless indicated otherwise.

Ottawa 10k Open Prize Money

The top male and female runners in the professional field will win:

1st – $8,000.00
2nd – $5,000.00
3rd – $2,500.00
4th – $2,000.00
5th – $1,500.00
6th – $1,000.00
7th – $750.00
8th – $500.00

Gender Competition

The women’s professional field will be given a predetermined head start. The first person across the finish line will win $4,000.00

Canadian National 10k Championships

The Ottawa 10k serves as the Canadian National 10k championships. In order to qualify for National’s prize money, the athletes must be Canadian citizens, members of Athletics Canada and registered in the event as a professional runner. The following prize purse is available for both the men & women’s field:

1st – $3,000.00
2nd – $1,500.00
3rd – $1,000.00
4th – $750.00
5th – $500.00
6th – $400.00
7th – $300.00
8th – $200.00

IPC classified prize money

The Prize Purse is open to all IPC classified competitors, not only Canadians. Prizes are reduced by 50% if athlete’s times are not sub-40 minutes for men and sub-45 for women.

1st – $500.00
2nd – $250.00
3rd – $125.00

Ottawa 10k Masters Prize Money

Masters prize money is open to any runners in the professional field that are 40 years and older. The top 3 men and women will get:

1st – $400.00
2nd – $200.00
3rd – $100.00

Ottawa 10k Course Record Bonus

If any runner in the professional field breaks the existing course record, they will win a bonus of $3,000.

If Canadian citizen in the professional field breaks the Canadian national record, they will win a bonus of $2,500.

Canadian prize money is open to any Canadian citizens in the professional field that run under 2:25 (men), 2:50 (women). The top 3 men & women will get:

1st – $5,000.00
2nd – $2,500.00
3rd – $1,000.00

Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon Masters Prize money

Masters prize money is open to any runners in the marathon that are 40 years and older. The top 3 men & women will get:

1st – $1,000.00
2nd – $700.00
3rd – $500.00

Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon Course Record Bonus

If any athlete in the professional field breaks the existing course record, they will win a bonus of $10,000.

If any athlete in the professional field sets a Canadian Soil Record they will receive a 2017 Hyundai Tucson from Pathway Hyundai.

Canadian Marathon Record Bonus

If a Canadian citizen in the professional field breaks the Canadian national record, they will win a bonus of $15,000.
