Beaver Chase Series

Get ready to hit the trails with Run Ottawa in 2017 at the Beaver Chase Trail Series.

Featuring a lineup of fives great races held on dirt and gravel paths in Ottawa’s west end, the series is a great way to get a feel for off-road running.

On race day, you simply check in at the Run Ottawa tent and pay the registration fee. Cash only please. We will take day of race registration, between 5:30 and 6:25 p.m. for those who decide to run at the last minute.

Race Notes

    • All races feature a shorter distance of 2K and a longer option for 5.5K
    • The events will be held rain-or-shine.
    • Washrooms will be accessible at each event.
    • These events are not timed. There will be a clock at the finish line and runners who wish to appear in the results listing are to record their time as they finish as instructed at each event. Results will be posted at
    • This is a participation series. Overall male and female winners are recognized in each event but there are no age category prizes.
    • A draw prize raffle will be held after each event and any person registered has a chance to win.
    • If you run at four of the five Beaver Chase Trail Series events, you’ll receive receive a short sleeve commemorative t-shirt.

Kids Run Ottawa

Schools and run clubs, please visit Kids Run Ottawa for a fun, active program designed for students 6-12 years old.

Course information

These races have courses that are a cross between cross-country running and pathways, so it’s recommended that you bring a change of clothes on rainy days.

Not Wheelchair Racing Suitable These events take place on wooded and gravel paths, making them not suitable for wheelchair racing.


Prizes will consist of merchandise that will be handed out via a random draw – anyone can win.
