The holiday season can be a real gift. True, you may occasionally feel like your head is going to explode with all the rushing around to social engagements, shopping malls, school assemblies and family functions – never mind the intense pressure to bake, cook, travel, buy presents and be an all around superhuman. But underneath all the mayhem there is still a core idea of taking time away from the daily grind to be with people you care about, to express gratitude for all you have, and to celebrate togetherness and community. So in that spirit, we just want to say that we’re glad you’re a part of our running community and we’re grateful for your participation in the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend. Best of the season to you and yours!

Ottawa’s longest-running winter race, The Richmond Road Races is a special event that never fails to warm the legs and hearts of local runners who brave its often chilly temperatures. A great way to test your fitness early in the year, the event is also famous for its fun post-race social (held inside at South Carleton High School) where runners warm up with great soup and conversation. With almost 500 runners participating last year, this is a fun, popular event that is the perfect way to kick off a fantastic year of running in 2013.For more details about the race and how to register, visit: http://www.runottawaclub.ca/richmond-road-races/
