Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the #1 cause of death for healthy infants between the ages of one month and one year of age in Canada. For 40 years, the Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths has been Canada’s only national foundation exclusively focused on SIDS, and also dedicated to reducing infant mortality and other sudden and unexpected infant and child deaths including stillbirth and miscarriage. Since our inception in 1973, we have pursued our mission through research, advocacy and a peer-to-peer bereavement support network to assist families who have faced the tragic loss of an infant. |
