The Y Kids Marathon is for you!
The Youth athletic series is a free, school-based program designed to help Ottawa youth become more active. This series is designed for male and female runners under 19 years old. Registration in the Youth Athletic Series is not compulsory, but registered participants can win prizes for participation and performance. The standings are calculated from the results of pre-selected events and will be updated after each race.
Points are awarded for every race, with separated categories for male and female, when you finish in the top five. To determine the overall winner the total points from all the races will be added up and a winner will be announced. In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by comparing finish times, followed by a vote by the Ottawa Race Weekend organizers. Points are allotted as follows:
Note: Points are doubled for the Ottawa Race Weekend events (MDS Nordion 5K and MDS Nordion 10K). Participating in series races does not earn points but does automatically register you for the participation awards.
