The Sens Mile Challenge
Are you as likely to talk about Erik Karlsson as Eric Gillis? Does a Sens win on Saturday night put a spring in your step on your Sunday long run? When you need to dig deep, do you imagine the Leafs going down in the next Battle of Ontario?
Then you won’t want to miss the Sens Mile Challenge.
On March 4th, Run Ottawa and the Ottawa Senators are presenting a very special fitness challenge combining running, stair climbing, and circuit training – and it all takes place at the Canadian Tire Centre.
Starting on the 2nd level concourse, participants in the Sens Mile Challenge will:
- Run one lap of the 200 level (a 400-metre loop)
- Do 20 push-ups
- Run a second lap of the 200 level
- Do 20 burpees
- Run a third lap of the 200 level
- Do 20 squats
- Run up the stairs to the 300 level
- Complete a final 400-metre lap of the 300 level with a sprint to the finish.
Total distance – 1 mile. Total effort? Get ready to channel your inner Chris Neil.
And to cap it all off, you’ll get a ticket for Saturday night’s match up against Columbus (as well as some sweet swag).
Participants will compete in groups of 10, with the number of groups limited to 10 for a total of 100 participants.
