A fresh partnership for the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend

Farm Boy signs on as the event’s official fresh food supplier

December 16, 2013 – OTTAWA – The Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend is proud to announce it is partnering with Farm Boy to feed its 48,000 expected finishers at this year’s event. The partnership will see Farm Boy – a locally-owned retail grocer specializing in quality fresh foods and exceptional customer service – provide all fresh foods in the recovery area.

“We’re so happy to be partnering with a local company reputed for providing quality fresh foods to help our runners refuel,” said John Halvorsen. “Our participants have high expectations when it comes to refuelling after their races, and we wanted to make sure we provided them with only the best.”

The partnership will see Farm Boy provide finishers with bagels, granola bars, and fresh fruit in the recovery area for all six Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend events.

“Quality of life in the community is one of the core values driving our work,” said Jeff York, CEO of Farm Boy. “Partnering with an event dedicated to the promotion of health and fitness like the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend is a perfect fit for us.”

The 2014 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend will take place May 24-25, 2014.
