Access to the Media Center, Start/Finish Lines, and Media Vehicles is limited to accredited media.
Start Lines
Photographers and cameramen with proper accreditation (blue stickers) will have some limited access to the Start Lines for the 2K, 5K, 10K, half-marathon and full marathon. Reporters cannot have access inside the barricades.
The Start Lines are all located at Elgin/Laurier. A media relations person would be pleased to accompany you to the Start Line and to assist in getting you to the Finish Line in time for the arrivals.
Finish Line
Photographers and cameramen with proper accreditation (blue stickers) will have access to the Finish Lines for the 2K, 5K, 10K, half-marathon and full marathon. Reporters with proper accreditation will be asked to view the arrivals from a VIP area near the Elite Athletes Tent. Reporters do not have access to the Finish Line.
Interviews with the winners will be conducted in the cool down area in a scrum format. A media relations person will be on hand to help you identify the winners and ensure you get your interview.
Lead vehicles
Reporters, photographers and cameramen with proper accreditation (blue and green stickers) have access to the media vehicles for the 10K and the marathon. If you plan to cover the race from the media vehicle, you are asked to be at the Start Line 30 minutes prior to the start time (6pm for the 10K and 6:30am for the Marathon).
Note that there will be two media vehicles for the 10K this year. One in front of the women’s pace car (the women have roughly a 4 minute lead) and one in front of the men’s pace car. The media vehicle for the marathon will be located in front of the pace car as well. Opportunities for good visuals are limited.
