If you aren’t a subscriber to Canadian Running, now is the time to run out to a newsstand and pick up an issue! Not only is Canadian Running an incredibly solid magazine to begin with—featuring great running advice and amazing coverage of the Canadian running scene—but the September/October 2013 issue features an incredible 8-page spread on the growth of the Ottawa Marathon into Canada’s biggest race weekend. Fantastic photos, little known facts and history about the race (did you know that Rick Hansen won the first wheelchair marathon in 1983?), behind the scenes info about the elites, and just a great overall story that will get you pumped up for 2014!
On top of the 8-page spread, there are also great features on Rob Watson, winner of the Canadian Marathon Championships in Ottawa in 2013 and Lanni Marchant (featured on the cover), the top Canadian woman at the 2013 10K.
Cover-to-cover the issue is a must read and is on stands until the last week of October.
We always like to hear from you about what’s working, and what you’d like to see covered in future editions of the newsletter. And we’re also interested in hearing your inspiring stories of athleticism and endurance. So don’t be shy!
