Cuso International is a non-profit international development organization that sends people (volunteers) rather than aid money. Since 1961, some 15,000 volunteers have served overseas to work on long-term, sustainable solutions. They live for six months up to two years at the heart of the community they are helping and come from many professional and personal backgrounds from Canada, the US as well as from many of the developing countries in which we work.
We place some 250 volunteers each year in over 25 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean who work in collaboration with our in-country partners in the areas of health, secure livelihood, education, disabilities, gender equality, participation and governance. Our vision is a world without poverty where everyone - men, women, children - have the opportunity to fulfill their potential. Every $1 donated to Cuso is leveraged nine times thanks to our five-year funding agreement with the Canadian International Development Agency, a valuable partnership which helps to reach more of those in need.
